Tier 1 Compliance Solution
This three-part course has been designed for you to meet Tier 1 adviser requirements set out by ASIC in RG 146. The content can be customised to suit the needs of your organisation, however, all three areas must be covered to achieve competence in the relevant area/s of advice.

Tier 1 Compliance Solution is ideal for:
- Aspiring financial product advisers yet to have met their Tier 1 competencies
- Non-advisory financial services staff or staff with limited advice seeking to increase their career potential.
What would I achieve upon completion?
Upon successful completion of Kaplan Professional's Tier 1 Compliance Solution, you’ll be able to:
- receive a Statement of Attainment against Tier 1 competencies as identified by ASIC
- understand and apply a broad range of financial services fundamental knowledge including specialist knowledge areas (e.g. managed investments, securities, life insurance)
- learn practical and appropriate adviser-client skills.

Pathways
Have you successfully completed Tier 1 subjects? If you have, you may be able to entitled to recognition for some or all of the subjects towards the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) FNS50804.

Course delivery
There are two different ways the course can be studied. The delivery modes are:
- Self-study – Delivered via distance education, subject notes are mailed to students with supplementary material and amendments available via the Kaplan website .
- Workshop – If a more structured learning environment is preferred, each component is also available in a traditional classroom setting. This involves a period of essential pre-study followed by the workshops (pre-study materials will be mailed prior to workshops). Public workshops are run in each state subject to demand.
Assessment
Depending on the component, assessments is via exam or an assignment.
- Generic Knowledge – assessed via an exam
- Specialist Knowledge – each knowledge area assessed via an exam
- Adviser Skills – assessed via an assignment*
For exams, a pass mark of 70% is required for each component. Exams are multiple-choice and are delivered online via our website.

*Note: If you are undertaking more than one Specialist Knowledge area you only need to do an assignment for one of those areas. The assignment meets the skills requirements for all Specialist Knowledge areas undertaken.
