Who Should Enrol
The courses are ideal for:
- those intending to provide advice on ASX derivative products
- those seeking to expand their trading experience to the Australian options market.
Course Information
Dependent on the level of advice you wish to provide, choose from two accreditation level courses:
- Level One Accreditation (ASX Accredited Derivatives Adviser - ADA1) - enables you to provide advice on exchange traded options and warrants transactions only
- Level Two Accreditation (ASX Accredited Derivatives Adviser - ADA2) - enables you to provide advice on all ASX exchange traded options and warrants strategies.
The course includes a self study manual and exam(s). Please note that completion of studies and the subsequent exam does not automatically provide you with accreditation. A Market Participant must nominate you for accreditation, please see How do I become an ASX Accredited Derivatives Adviser? below.
Although the course is self-paced, the first exam attempt must be taken within four months of enrolment. Any exam resit must be taken within six months of enrolment.
How do I become an ASX Accredited Derivatives Adviser?
Accreditation is a two-step process. You must first successfully complete the relevant accreditation exam and then have your Market Participant apply to the ASX for accreditation.
- Download the ADA Brochure & Enrolment Form for full details on the ADA exams, the accreditation process and administration procedures.
- Download the ADA 1 & 2 Exam Booking Form
Please note that whilst anyone can sit the exam, only representatives of an ASX Market Participant may be accredited.
Upon successful completion of the exam, to be accredited for the first time, an applicant's Market Participant is required to complete the appropriate application (depending on the level of derivatives advice to be given) for accreditation applications.
When an applicant's accreditation has been withdrawn or expired, if they are to continue offering derivatives advice, their Market Participant need to apply for re-accreditation.
Refer to the Forms page for all ADA Accreditation forms.
On receipt of the application form, Kaplan Professional will email the Market Participant confirmation of the candidate’s accreditation. An Accreditation certificate will be forwarded within 5 working days.
Please note if an adviser leaves the employment of a Market Participant, or ceases to be a representative, the accreditation of the adviser is immediately withdrawn and the Market Participant must notify Kaplan within 5 business days by completing and submitting a Notification of withdrawal of Accreditation form.
Refer to the Forms page for all ADA Accreditation and Exam forms.
