Who should enrol
This qualification is for individuals working in retail financial services environments such as banks and credit unions. Specific roles may include:
- credit/lending officer
- credit controller
- customer service officer
- credit analyst
- reconciliation officer

There are no minimum entry requirements for this qualification.

Industry recognition
Successful completion of this qualification addresses the requirement of RG206 for responsible managers to hold a credit industry qualification to at least Certificate IV level. Recognition & exemptions
You may be entitled to gain an exemption into this qualification based on your previous study, work experience or a combination of both. To do this you need to submit evidence that demonstrates you have already met the requirements of the subjects through other means, including:

Qualification overview
To achieve this qualification, you must successfully complete one subject which includes three topics:
- Developing self-management skills and professional knowledge
- Evaluating and processing the credit application
- Providing service and resolving problems
Delivery

This qualification is delivered via self-study. Study manuals are available in both hard copy and e-book formats.
These delivery modes are supported by an online learning portal, KapLearn. Through KapLearn you can access additional study resources including supplementary learning modules, media, practice activities and an online tutor.
Assessment
To complete the subject, you must successfully complete:
- 1 multiple choice closed-book exam
- 1 project
If you are unsuccessful in an assessment (Not yet competent), you will have the opportunity to:
- Resubmit your project (once)
- Resit the exam (twice)

Duration & timeframes
A typical study commitment is 60 hours for all topics but this may vary depending on your capacity for study.
You have 12 weeks from the time of enrolment to successfully complete the three topics and related assessment tasks with set completion timeframes for each assessment. Specific deadlines will be communicated at the point of enrolment. No extensions to the study period will be granted.
