Who should enrol
This qualification is ideal for:

- Current professionals working in a broader financial services role seeking ASIC RG146 compliance to provide personal advice to retail clients
Entry requirements
There are no minimum entry requirements; however Foundations of Financial Planning must be the first subject completed.
Qualification outcomes
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge required for working in the financial services
- Understand how to evaluate investment options in Australia
- Design recommendations on insurance policies
- Understand and have the competency to strategically plan superannuation and retirement

Employability skills
Employability Skills are embedded in training and assessment and information relevant to your qualification can be obtained by visiting the Employability Skills website and keying in the national code for the qualification - FNS50610.
Recognition & exemptions
You may be entitled to gain an exemption into this qualification based on your previous study, work experience or a combination of both. To do this you need to submit evidence that demonstrates you have already met the requirements of the subjects through other means, including:

Note: Recognition of prior learning (RPL) will be granted if you can demonstrate competency in any of the RG146 Tier 1 product areas.
Qualification overview
You must successfully complete three compulsory subjects to achieve the Diploma.
An elective subject, Investment Products, offers RG146 compliance in three additional product areas based on need. The competencies achieved in the extension subject are additional to those required to gain the Diploma and lead to an exemption for one subject into the Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning (FNS60410).

This qualification is delivered via self-study with optional workshops available if you prefer a more structured face-to-face learning environment. Study manuals are available in both hard copy and e-book formats.

Assessment
To gain the Diploma you must successfully complete:
- 2 x projects and 3 x online exams
To complete the Investment Products elective you must successfully complete:
- 1 x project and 1 x online exam

Duration & timeframes
A typical study commitment is 60 hours per subject and may vary depending on your capacity for study.
Projects and first-sit exams must be completed no later than 12 weeks from enrolment. Should you be deemed ‘Not yet competent’ you will be given an additional 4 weeks to resubmit your project or resit your exam. No extension to the study period will be granted.
When enrolling into the full qualification, you must complete all subjects within 2 years of the initial enrolment.

Pathways
Once you’ve completed the Diploma you can upgrade to the Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning (FNS60410). If you have completed the Investment Products elective as part of your Diploma studies, you will gain an exemption for one subject into the Advanced Diploma.
