The Banking Major provides the necessary background, skills and analytical approaches required for a successful career in banking. It is of equal relevance for those in non-bank financial institutions. You may also consider this Major if you are aiming to extend your career prospects in other specialised areas of finance.

Subjects to Complete^
To graduate with a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance with a Banking Major, you must complete 8 subjects in total: 4 core subjects and 4 Banking subjects.
To graduate with a Master of Applied Finance with a Banking Major, you must complete 12 subjects in total: 4 core subjects, 4 Banking subjects, 2 elective subjects and 2 compulsory subjects (FIN234 Strategic Management and FIN236 Quantitative Applications in Finance).

Can I Change My Mind?
If you begin to complete the Major but then change your mind, that’s ok, you can continue on and complete the Graduate Diploma or Master’s without a Major and enrol in subjects across a range of areas.
