Corporate Finance/Advisory Major
Corporate finance is an area of finance dealing with the financial decisions corporations make and the tools and analysis used to make these decisions. The primary goal of corporate finance is to maximise corporate value while reducing the firm's financial risks. The finance function in large corporations involves making decisions about capital budgeting, capital structure, dividend policies and mergers and acquisitions. These decisions can all have a significant impact on the valuation of a business.
In this Major you will learn skills and techniques in financial analysis and valuation. These form the foundations to expand your understanding of a corporations capital structure, mergers and acquisitions and the implications of how they are funded as well as project finance and other specialist areas.

To graduate with a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance with a Corporate Finance/Advisory Major, you must complete 8 subjects in total: 4 core subjects and 4 Corporate Finance/Advisory subjects.
To graduate with a Master of Applied Finance with a Corporate Finance/Advisory Major, you must complete 12 subjects in total: 4 core subjects, 4 Corporate Finance/Advisory subjects, 2 elective subjects and 2 compulsory subjects (FIN234 Strategic Management and FIN236 Quantitative Applications in Finance).
