A multimedia CPD program for meeting RG 146 requirements
PDsessions is a monthly subscription-based continuing professional development (CPD) program designed to provide you with a solution to meet your ongoing ASIC compliance obligations and gain a competitive advantage.
The program uses a unique blend of print material (a workbook) and filmed interviews of leading industry experts (supplied on DVD) to bring you the most up-to-date information in an engaging and thought-provoking manner. The workbook extends the filmed interviews and incorporates key points with more in-depth reference materials.
Covering content across the knowledge requirements set out in ASIC’s RG 146, PDsessions helps you to maintain and develop your competence, and stay on top of fast changing markets and regulatory requirements.
You can complete the training individually or use it as the basis for group training sessions — either way, it provides a convenient and cost-effective solution.

What does my subscription include?
You will receive 10 editions of PDsessions per year, from February to November, each consisting of a 3-hour training program comprising:

a comprehensive workbook containing a News in Review article and 5 print articles featuring expert commentary, practical examples and case studies to illustrate key concepts

a monthly Economic Update and a quarterly Investment Outlook featuring some of Australia’s leading economists
-
a 1-hour video program with up to 20 filmed interviews (available in DVD, Video CD-ROM or Audio CD formats)

a detailed leader’s guide for facilitated group study

monthly assessment and reporting.
Quality content
Each month, you will receive content that has been carefully selected for its relevance, topicality and importance to advisers. Topics covered throughout the year include:

estate and business succession planning

practice management strategies and skills
-
wealth accumulation strategies
-
portfolio design and construction
-
retirement income planning.
Assessments
Each workbook contains an assessment task, comprising 15 multiple-choice questions. Successful completion of the assessment enables you to earn 3 CPD points per month. In addition, you can earn 1 extra CPD point for viewing the accompanying video program.

Self-study: You have 3 months to complete the assessment and submit it to us by fax or email for marking. You can attempt the assessment as many times as you wish.

Group training: You can choose to outsource your administration and reporting. Each month advisers will receive a multiple-choice assessment to complete and Kaplan Professional will track your progress and issue results. Administrators can also choose to receive a consolidated monthly group report.
CPD Points
You will receive a certificate at the end of the year showing the number of continuing professional development (CPD) points you have accrued.

PDsessions is accredited for CPD by the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) and the Financial Planners Association (FPA). It is recognised by the Association of Taxation and Management Accountants (ATMA) and the National Institute of Accountants (NIA).
