Understanding how business transactions are reflected in a business’s financial statements and assessing their significance in evaluating financial performance and liquidity is a basic, and critical, skill for bankers and lenders. As lending standards have become tighter, increasing attention is being paid to what the information held in financial statements tells us about the credit worthiness of a business. This short course provides a practical understanding of the less complex financial statements of small and medium sized enterprises and a brief introduction to their analysis through ratios.
