Supervision Skills for New Managers

Taking on the role of leader and manager for the first time involves a significant shift in responsibility and skill. Effective leaders and managers achieve results by refining their ability to manage their own workload and by creating an environment that allows others to succeed.

This short course provides attendees with the tools and fundamental knowledge to meet the demands of a new role and responsibilities head-on.

Who should attend?

This short course is ideal for those who have recently taken on the role of leader or manager of a workgroup.

What will I learn?

  • You will learn to better manage your own performance in order to manage the performance of a workgroup, and will look at their role in the group and how an effective group operates
  • You will also examine different leadership roles and strategies, identify their own natural leadership style and learn how to use new skills to motivate, track and improve group performance, including using coaching skills to address performance gaps.

(A minimum of 8 participants is required to run a course.) Scheduled courses may then be open to the public.
