Emeritus Professor Bob Robertson

Career OverviewBorn in Canada in 1944, Prof Robertson moved to the Australian National University in Canberra in 1969. He became an Australian citizen in 1980. He worked in London in 1986 and Hong Kong in 1990-93. Prof Robertson began his professional career in Canada working for the Science Secretariat of the Canadian Privy Council. In Australia, he has held senior management positions with Commonwealth and State Governments. He is the Managing Director of successful consultancy companies in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has served as a Director on 12 Australian Company Boards and has contributed to Australian higher education as an academic manager and leader. Prof Robertson was Dean of the Faculty of Business at the University of Technology, Sydney for 7 years before becoming Vice-President of UTS. On his retirement from UTS in 2004, he was made an Emeritus Professor of the University and was appointed Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Business. In 2005, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of the University. He has been project leader on several World Bank development projects in South Asia and the SW Pacific. Current ResponsibilitiesProf Robertson is actively involved in the development of the private higher education sector in Australia. He is currently a Director of the Australian Institute of Music Ltd, the International Centre for Excellence in Sports Science and Management Pty Ltd, Education Australia (International Enterprises) Pty Ltd and MEGT Ltd. He is on the Education and Training Board of the Advertising Federation of Australia, the Academic Board of the GHD Business School and the Academic Board of Kaplan Education (formerly FINSIA). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Leisure Organisation, a United Nations NGO Consultancy committed to the UN millennium goals. Kaplan Professional Contribution
