Gary Monroe
Gary is a Professor of Accounting at the University of New South Wales. He is an award-winning teacher in the fields of financial and management accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, behavioural research in accounting and research methods at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Gary is also an internationally renowned researcher in auditing, with an emphasis on audit judgment and the economics of auditing, and financial reporting.
Gary has over 20 years experience lecturing and authoring for Kaplan Professional (formerly Monroe Topple & Associates).
Qualifications:
- PhD in Business Administration (Accounting and Information Systems)
- Bachelor of Science

- Former President of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand
Previous experience:
- Prior to joining the University of New South Wales, Gary worked at a range of education institutions including the Australian National University, Edith Cowan University, University of Western Australia, University of Hawaii, Duke University and the University of Massachusetts.
- Expert witness in court cases involving accounting issues.
- Consultant for the design and implementation of management accounting systems for small and medium size firms.
- Prior to becoming an academic, Gary worked as an auditor for a medium sized audit firm in the US.

- Considerable experience with the ICAA in setting exams and projects, marking projects, focus session leader.
- Author of a number of articles in journals such as Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business Ethics, Behavioural Research in Accounting, Accounting Education, British Accounting Review, Australian Accounting Review and Accounting and Finance
- Editorial board member of a number of journals including Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Accounting and Finance, Australian Accounting Review, Accounting Research Journal, Managerial Auditing Journal and International Journal of Auditing
- Winner of a number of awards such as:
- ‘Manuscript of the Year’ by the Accounting Association of Australia and New Zealand
- ‘Best Paper Award’ at the 13th Asian-Pacific Conference on International Accounting Issues

Grant Gay
Grant is an Associate Professor, Department of Accounting and Finance at Monash University. He is a specialist in the fields of auditing and financial accounting, with extensive Australian and international audit experience. He has a passion for education and continues to make a significant contribution to the industry through his teaching and authoring of education materials and programs.
Grant has over 15 years experience lecturing and authoring for Kaplan Professional (formerly Monroe Topple & Associates).

Tania Goodmund
Tania is a solicitor in NSW, specialising in Taxation Law. Much of Tania’s 7 years of professional experience has involved advising large corporate clients on the taxation implications of domestic and international transactions, with a particular emphasis in the finance industry.
Tania also has several years of experience in lecturing and/or tutoring in Taxation Law at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level across various Australian tertiary institutions.
Tania has been lecturing for Kaplan Professional (formerly Monroe Topple & Associates) since 2008.
