Success in your role and career are based on your personal abilities. This subject focuses on ensuring that you have the personal abilities you need to achieve your full potential in your current and future roles. The subject is about providing leadership across the organisation; managing personal work priorities and professional development; and developing and using emotional intelligence.
As part of this subject you will participate in an emotional intelligence self-assessment covering self-awareness and awareness of others, reasoning, resilience and realising potential. You will then utilise what you learn to give you the best chance possible to lead yourself and others to succeed.
This subject focuses on the skills and capabilities required to maximise the performance and productivity of those you work with. This may be staff who report to you, however, it could also be members of a project team you are on, multi-departmental activities, and even customers and suppliers you have partnerships with.
Leading people requires different capabilities than managing yourself. This subject is about managing people performance, leading and managing effective workplace relations, leading and managing team effectiveness, and developing a workplace learning environment.
Once you have a culture of excellence in place, you can focus it on extracting the full potential from the resources under your care. The process for doing this is made up of three areas — facilitating continuous improvement, creating an innovative work environment and managing risk. The framework that will be used to complete these tasks is that of managing projects.
