TASA (Tax Agent Services Act 2009)

Unless you meet the tax (financial) adviser qualification requirements as the voting member of a professional association (item 304), you will need to have completed:

  • a Board approved course in Australian taxation law
  • a Board approved course in commercial law.

Kaplan’s Tax for Financial Advising subject meets the requirements for ‘a course in Australian taxation law that is approved by the Board’ for tax (financial) advisers for the purposes of Items 301(c), 302(c) and 303(b) of Part 3 of Schedule 2 to the Tax Agent Services Regulations 2009 (TASR).

Additionally, under the requirements of the TPB it is essential that registered agents are able to abide by and demonstrate their knowledge of the Tax Agents Services Act (TASA), including the Code of Professional Conduct as part of the requirements for registration and to be able to meet their statutory obligations in relation to the provision of tax agent services.

Kaplan has partnered with The Tax Institute to deliver this course which meets the TPB’s requirements under TPB (I) 10/2011.

Kaplan’s TASA 2009 and TPB Code of Professional Conduct course is for financial advisers who provide tax (financial) advice services and are registered with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) as a tax (financial) adviser.
