You will gain an introductory understanding of the property industry in Victoria, both the sales and property management aspects of working in real estate, as well as learning interpersonal communication techniques and strategies that will assist you to get off to a successful start in your first role. Successful completion meets the educational requirement for Consumer Affairs Victoria to apply for registration to work as an agent representative in the property sector in Victoria. To become a licensed estate agent, you must have gained the equivalent of at least one year’s full-time experience as an agent’s representative in the three years immediately before applying for a licence. You must also complete the relevant educational program and any other requirement as prescribed by Consumer Affairs Victoria. Units of competency are individually assessed within subjects, as listed in ‘Units of competency’. AssessmentDetails QuizzesOpen book multiple choice quizzes, four (4) attempts. Assignment• Written – short answer questions, case study and project, two (2) attempts. • Oral – oral response to questions and a role-play, two (2) attempts. The mode of oral assessment is by audio for Part 1 and phone/skype with an assessor for Part 2. As part of the course requirements, individuals will need to find a volunteer to assist with their role play in the oral assignment for Part 1 and an appointment process with an assessor will apply for Part 2. Individuals may attempt the quizzes and/or submit their written assignments at any time if they believe they are adequately prepared. The Oral Assignment may be attempted when all other subjects are completed. Individuals will receive personal reminder emails as they approach their enrolment expiry deadline.
