Cybersecurity is one of Australia’s national security priorities and is a critical issue for all businesses. Kaplan Professional’s cybersecurity library in its premium online CPD platform, Ontrack, has been developed in response to new provisions in the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) and to assist businesses educating their employees on cyber threats and the importance of cybersecurity.
The Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Data Breaches) Act 2017 has added provisions to the Privacy Act 1988 introducing a regime of mandatory reporting and notification to individuals where a data breach has occurred. The provisions apply to any entity covered by the Privacy Act, so any business with a turnover of $3 million or more, as well as any entity (irrespective of size) that provides health services, is a credit provider, or trades in personal information are affected.
The cybersecurity library offers a series of articles specifically addressing topics and issues relevant to cybersecurity. The first release of articles addresses topics such as:
- Cyber risk insurance – an emerging market
- Recognising and preventing email attacks
- Understanding social engineering attacks
- Attributes of a good cyber resilience manager
- Small and medium enterprise security guide
- Information security and privacy
- Cybercrime markets
New content will be released each month and the cybersecurity library is available for purchase through Ontrack’s purpose-built platform.
