Continuing to support our community of students and clients is incredibly important to us.

We’re pleased to advise we have introduced online proctored exams. This means higher education students can now sit their exam in their own home or office on a computer or laptop. Our priority is the health and wellbeing of our students and employees, so we’re pleased to confirm online proctored exams are here to stay for higher education subjects. This ensures you have the freedom and flexibility to complete your subject without having the need to attend a designated exam venue or arrange an external exam with an independent supervisor. You can learn more about online proctored exams here.

For vocational education exams, students can now sit their exams face-to-face with a supervisor in their workplace. Alternatively, exams can also be supervised online via Zoom. You can learn more about vocational education exams here.

Kaplan Professional wants to ensure we provide you with the support you need to get your studies off to the best possible start each study period. We now offer four weeks of early access to your learning materials and subject room. You’ll also be able to access your assessments two weeks early (normally available on the first day of the study period). This will ensure you can familiarise yourself with your subject content and make a head start on your studies, while being empowered to plan your schedule ahead of time.

Kaplan Professional is committed to increasing our academic support for those students who need it. We’ve increased the one-to-one tutor sessions across most of our core subjects.

This means you can book your own time to speak with a tutor on Zoom for up to 15 minutes. You can use this time to seek more clarification on assessments, resolve any issues, or discuss certain theories and concepts in more detail.

A selection of times are available throughout the day and may be booked in your Kaplearn subject room. Subjects with one-to-one tutor sessions in Study Period 6 include:

Financial Planning

  • FPC001B Economic and Legal Context for Financial Planning
  • FPC002B Ethics and Professionalism in Financial Advice
  • FPC003 Superannuation and Retirement Advice
  • FPC004 Insurance Advice
  • FPC005 Estate and Succession Planning
  • FPC006 Tax and Commercial Law for Financial Planning
  • FPC007B Client Engagement Skills
  • FPC008 Investment Advice
  • KAP001 Research Project*

Applied Finance

  • FIN101 Financial Markets and Economic Principles
  • FIN102 Regulation, Ethics and Risk Management
  • FIN103 Financial Analysis and Valuation

*Also applies to Applied Finance students

To encourage a stronger sense of community and mutual support, we’re pleased to advise we’ve implemented regular online group study sessions via Zoom. This means you can now discuss your studies with your industry peers, while connecting on a personal level.

After trialling these in previous study periods, we’ve noticed these sessions have significantly increased student engagement, interaction and motivation. You’ll be encouraged to join these sessions where you can ask questions about your assessments, debate subject content, exchange study tips, or simply just lift the spirits of those around you to support each other to get through the subject.

Group study sessions for each subject may be booked in your KapLearn subject room. Subjects with group study sessions in Study Period 6 include:

Financial Planning

  • FPC001B Economic and Legal Context for Financial Planning
  • FPC002B Ethics and Professionalism in Financial Advice
  • FPC003 Superannuation and Retirement Advice
  • FPC004 Insurance Advice
  • FPC005 Estate and Succession Planning
  • FPC006 Tax and Commercial Law for Financial Planning
  • FPC007B Client Engagement Skills
  • FPC008 Investment Advice

To encourage as much interaction as possible between students and faculty, tutors will be increasing the frequency of their posts in the discussion forum. This will include focus points from the week’s topics, as well as tips on study scheduling and how to approach assessment tasks.

Not only will this lead to more informed debate on topical issues and subject content, it will also help to create a richer and more engaging experience for all students.

We understand this is a difficult economic environment, so we want to ensure study is accessible to as many people as possible. For our higher education subjects, you’re only required to pay for the subjects you’ve enrolled into in each study period. This means you can pay as you go on a subject-to-subject basis at a fixed price for the duration of your qualification.

Many of our eligible students use FEE-HELP. It’s a Commonwealth Government loan available to help you pay for part or all of your tuition fees, so you don’t need to pay to study upfront. This can help you reduce some of your financial burden.

If you’re not eligible for FEE-HELP, you’re encouraged to discuss your individual circumstances with our Student Advice team. On a case-by-case basis, we’ll look at ways to support you. For more information, please contact 1300 135 798 or studentadvice@kaplan.edu.au.

You may find our payment FAQs useful. Click here to learn more.

We understand there may still be times where students are faced with unpredictable obstacles and challenges. Should you have trouble meeting assessment deadlines throughout a study period, you’re encouraged to complete a special consideration application.

We’ve relaxed the supporting evidence required to apply because we understand some students may have difficulty obtaining supporting evidence or accessing technology.

If you need to apply for special consideration, you’re encouraged to contact 1300 135 798 or studentadvice@kaplan.edu.au. We’re here to support all students no matter the circumstances, so please be assured all applications and situations will be treated with respect and empathy.

Your health and wellbeing is paramount to us and we understand the current circumstances may still have an impact on your studies. Should you need to, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of the support and wellbeing services available to you:

  • Complimentary access to our Employee Assistance Program delivered by LifeWorks, offering confidential counselling
  • Complimentary community services resources
  • Support for students with disabilities
  • Student support services just a phone call away
