Announcement 11 December 2008

Mark Coggins, President Asia Pacific operations, is to oversee Kaplan Professional Australia pending the appointment of a successor to CEO Warren Jacobson.

Warren Jacobson, CEO of Kaplan Professional Australia, yesterday announced his resignation with effect from 31 December 2008.

Jacobson said “After nine years as a steward of this business it is time for me to move on and explore new opportunities. I am extremely fortunate to have worked with a wonderful team and I am proud of the role I have played in building Australia's leading provider of professional education to the financial services, tax and accounting and real estate sectors.  Kaplan Professional, with its scale and diversity, is extremely well positioned to withstand the current economic volatility and will use this advantage to consolidate its dominant position in its markets. I will take great pleasure in watching this success unfold into 2009 and beyond.”

Mark Coggins, President of Kaplan’s Asia Pacific operations, is overseeing Kaplan Professional’s Australian operations pending the appointment of a successor. "Warren has made a fantastic contribution to our business and we thank him for his enormous energy and enthusiasm in making our business vision for Kaplan Professional in Australia a reality. Rarely have I worked with a professional with his level of dedication and commitment to success,” said Coggins.

Jacobson was appointed CEO of Kaplan Professional in October 2006 following Kaplan Inc.’s acquisition of Tribeca Learning Limited, and initiated and oversaw the acquisition of the business of Finsia Education in August 2007.
