The Master of Financial Services (and nested courses) are the first higher education qualifications in Australia dedicated solely to the financial services industry, and is designed for ambitious individuals seeking to progress a career in this sector. This course is designed to take you beyond the technical, providing you with the capability and skills to be a financial services change‑maker, innovative thinker and leader, allowing you to stand out from your peers in this competitive industry. It provides a uniquely flexible learning experience, enabling you to structure your learning to suit your individual needs and career path, both immediately and into the future. 

 

The core subjects are designed to provide you with the opportunity to explore and further understand the contemporary financial services industry. For the remaining subjects, you have the freedom to choose from a broad elective pool spanning the following areas:

You then complete a capstone as your final subject, which allows you to explore in depth a current topic of relevance to you and your organisation, providing you with unique expertise to progress your career into the future.

Capstone project

Designed to allow you to bring together all of the knowledge and skills you have accumulated during your studies and work experience, and apply it in a practical way which is relevant to your professional practice.

Entry requirements

The qualifications listed as minimum education requirements must be from a recognised Institute of Higher Education. Overseas qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis using the Country Education Profiles (CEPs) qualification recognition tool provided by the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

Alternative entry pathways may be available to you if you do not meet the minimum education requirements. In addition, other entry requirements, such as English language proficiency, may apply to you depending on your academic background.

  • Completion of a Bachelor degree or higher qualification in a related* discipline, or
  • Completion of a Bachelor degree or higher qualification in an unrelated discipline with a minimum of two years full-time (or part-time equivalent) relevant work experience
