Kaplan Professional introduces digital badging

Kaplan Professional understands communicating your credentials in an ever-expanding online marketplace can be challenging. That’s why we’ve partnered with Credly to provide you with a digital portfolio of your credentials to help you standout in an increasingly agile, competitive and dynamic workforce.

Digital badges can be showcased in email signatures or digital résumé, and on social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. The digital badge contains verified metadata that describes your course or qualifications and the process required to earn them.

Digital badges easily allow you to quickly share verified proof of your studies, wherever and whenever you choose. Kaplan Professional digital badges are represented by a digital image that, once clicked on by a colleague or employer, will display verified information. This includes issue date, what it took to earn the digital badge, and the steps you undertook to earn your skills.

FAQ’s

Digital badges, or sometimes called open badges, are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome that can be verified online in real time.

Kaplan Professional has partnered with Credly to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a digital badge. The technology Credly uses on its platform is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.

Credly is a digital badge platform that works with credible organisations to provide digital credentials to individuals worldwide.

You’ll receive an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up an account with Credly.

If you don’t want your certification or your profile to be visible to the public, you can make them private. In fact, you may simply discard the digital badge email if you don’t wish to participate in the program.

No. This is a service Kaplan Professional provides to you at no cost.

While badges are simply digital image files, they’re uniquely linked to data hosted on the Credly platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

You can share your badge directly from the Credly platform to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. You can also embed it in a website or your email signature.

Labour market insights are pulled from live job requisitions. Based on your skills, you can learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges and more. Search active job listings and even apply for them in just a few clicks through Credly. Access the labour market insights from your badge details page by clicking on ‘Related Jobs’, or by clicking on the skill tags assigned to your badge.

Yes, you can download your badge from the Share Badge page. Your downloaded badge contains Open Badge Infrastructure (OBI) compliant metadata embedded into the image. This allows you to store your badge on other OBI-compliant badge sites such as the Mozilla backpack.
