New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX)
Kaplan Professional, in conjunction with New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX), offers two New Zealand-tailored subjects, along with Kaplan Professional’s postgraduate subjects, for the completion of the NZX Diploma.
The New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) stipulates that the NZX Diploma is the minimum educational qualification required to become an accredited NZX Advisor.
NZX formulates the standards required of market participants in its Participant Rules. Candidates should refer to the NZX Market Participant rules for requirements of becoming an NZX Advisor. Upon successful completion of the required subjects, candidates can apply to the NZX to become an accredited advisor.

Once you have completed certain subjects as part of the NZX Diploma you may be able to continue your studies and attain a market-leading Kaplan Professional postgraduate qualification. Check the information below for completion requirements and timeframes.
Completion Requirements
If you have completed the 2 compulsory FIN subjects (FIN111 and FIN113)* you can complete a further:
- 2 core subjects for a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance
- 2 core subjects plus any 4 elective subjects for a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance
- 2 core subjects plus 4 financial planning subjects for a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning
- 2 core subjects plus any 8 elective subjects for a Master of Applied Finance

Completion Timeframes
To meet the completion timeframe for any of these courses, you will need to have completed all of the required subjects for that course (including the subjects you complete as part of the NZX Diploma) within the stated completion timeframe.
