Course Suitability

Before enrolment, Kaplan Professional undertakes initial screening checks to determine whether the course aligns with your skills, and learning goals. The screening assessment may include a review of prior qualifications and experience, identification of disability or learning needs, and language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills,

If the selected course is determined to be unsuitable, Kaplan Professional will make every reasonable effort to offer an alternative study option or pathway that better aligns with your needs and career goals.

Where enrolment is connected to your employment, your employer’s confirmation forms an important part of the suitability assessment to ensure the course meets your professional development requirements.

Kaplan Professional courses are delivered and assessed in English. You will be required to read detailed subject materials, complete written assessments, conduct independent research, and engage in online forums and discussions.

Sound practical numeracy skills are required before commencing your studies. You should feel confident with calculations, percentages, ratios, and data analysis.

The online delivery mode relies on written communication so strong reading and writing skills are essential. The digital skills required to complete your studies include;

• Save and edit Microsoft Office documents
• Research, access, and search the internet
• Download and save documents from websites
• Upload and submit assessments through websites
• Make an audio recording using a smartphone, tablet, or computer
• Participate in online discussions and forums

Some courses/subjects may have prerequisite requirements that you must meet prior to commencing study. Please check the ‘Entry requirements’ section of the relevant course page.

If your course/subject has a prerequisite, you will need to submit evidence of fulfilling this requirement to Kaplan Professional. Certified copies of academic records showing completion of the pre-requisite requirements can be sent to enrolments@kaplan.edu.au
