There are no units of competency in this course.
A certificate of completion will be awarded on successful completion of each subject.

Students must complete the subject in 12 weeks from the enrolment date.
Students should expect to spend up to 12 hours working through the study notes and completing the learning activities.
This course is delivered online via Kaplan Professional’s learning management system, KapLearn.
You’ll receive login details to KapLearn on enrolment. When you log on to KapLearn, you’re able to access the subject notes, assessments, and additional learning materials such as media, case studies, practice activities and your online tutor.
Assessments are accessed and submitted through KapLearn.

Subject entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course.
Individuals are required to be aged 18 years or older to enrol in this course.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
There’s no RPL available for this course as there are no units of competency awarded.
This course provides an introduction to SMSFs, however if you want to provide advice in SMSFs you will need to complete Kaplan’s Generic Knowledge, Superannuation and Retirement Planning and the SMSF program.
Candidates who meet all the course requirements will get an understanding of the key elements relating to SMSFs, the fastest growing segment of the superannuation industry.
Introduction to SMSF is a one subject course.
Assessment for this subject is as follows:
Kaplan’s exams are open book multiple-choice exams where emphasis is placed on the application of knowledge.
You must sit your first exam within 12 weeks of your enrolment date.
To achieve an overall grade of ‘competent’ in the exam, you must achieve the nominated pass mark for each module in the exam. If you are deemed ‘not yet competent’ for a module, you are provided with a re-sit and are only required to attempt that module in the re-sit. If a re-sit is required, it much be within 16 weeks of your enrolment date.
You can sit your exam while being supervised in your workplace or at a Kaplan office.
