Erin Shields – Senior Financial Advisor at Dixon Advisory
Why did you choose Kaplan over other providers?
Kaplan has a solid reputation worldwide as a leader in educational courses and their specialty in online education provides the flexibility and accessibility necessary for people like myself who need to juggle work and their studies. I was confident that Kaplan would provide the content I wanted to learn, with the reputation to be recognised in the broader community.
What did you think of Kaplan’s course structure?
I loved that I was able to select subjects that were relevant and interesting to my career and interests. I appreciated the flexibility to pace myself through my studies, but was also grateful for the expectation that a topic should be completed within a respectable time period.
How has the course helped you in the workplace while studying?
Absolutely! The practical nature of the courses has greatly assisted me in devising strategies for my own clients. Kaplan’s courses appeal to a broad range of students, with courses providing the most basic introduction to a topic and compounding this knowledge into more complex theories and strategies; all of which are relevant and useful when providing advice.
Where are you now in your career and has this course helped you get there?
I am currently working as a Financial Advisor with Dixon Advisory, providing strategic advice to Australians to assist them to understand their goals and realise their financial objectives in a tax-effective and risk-appropriate way.
Jai Manzo – Associate Director at NAB

What did you think about Kaplan’s course structure?
The course structure, via the breadth of elective subjects provided, afforded me flexibility to tailor my studies towards building knowledge for my current role as well as for my future career aspirations. The course structure also focused on shared learning among students via discussion forums and team activities which provided invaluable opportunities to expand my professional network.
The real life industry case studies provided practical, relevant and up-to-date knowledge which I could apply immediately in my workplace. The delivery of these industry case studies by current industry practitioners and experts ensured a focus on knowledge for the workplace underpinned all subjects.
Where are you now in your career and has this course helped you to get there?
The course has played an integral role in progressing my career at NAB. The practical nature of subject content was tailored specifically to help me excel in the workplace and keep me up to date with industry requirements and issues.

“I can testify that its courses are first class in bringing the practicalities of the market and the real economy together in an understandable way which is materially beneficial to those involved in the financial services sector.
The key involvement of practitioners brings to life the vicissitudes of the economy and market such as the 1987 sharemarket crash, 1990’s recession, internet bubble and GFC, against a robust theoretical background. My experience is that this combination is unparalleled in the postgraduate financial services education marketplace and so cannot recommend it any more highly.”
