Are you interested in selling real estate in Western Australia or apply for a real estate or business agent licence in Western Australia?

Kaplan Professional’s online CPP50307 Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management) is ideal if you wish to obtain your sales representative registration or further your real estate knowledge and become a licensed real estate and business agent in WA.

You will gain an introductory understanding of both the sales and leasing aspects of working in real estate, in-depth knowledge about aspects of general real estate, including:

  • Property marketing and appraisals
  • Property sales
  • Leasing and management of rental properties
  • Trust accounting
  • Managing finance and staff in an agency
  • Developing strategic business plans and managing risk for a real estate agency
  • Recruiting, selecting and inducting staff and managing people performance

Successful completion meets the educational requirement for WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety for sales representative to work in the property sector in Western Australia. It also meets the educational requirements needed to apply for the real estate and business agents licence.

Part 1: WA Sales Representative and Part 2: Real Estate and Business Agents Licence need to be completed to be awarded the CPP50307 Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management).

Assessment

The type of assessments for this course are listed below. Details of how each unit of competency are assessed is listed in the course outline.

Assignment• Written – short answer questions, case study and project , two (2) attempts.

• Oral – oral response to questions and a role-play, two (2) attempts.

The mode of oral assessment is by audio for Part 1 and phone/skype with an assessor for Part 2. As part of the course requirements, individuals will need to find a volunteer to assist with their role play in the oral assignment for Part 1 and an appointment process with an assessor will apply for Part 2.

Individuals may attempt the quizzes and/or submit their written assignments at any time if they believe they are adequately prepared. The Oral Assignment may be attempted when all other subjects are completed. Individuals will receive personal reminder emails as they approach their enrolment expiry deadline.

Individuals must be deemed competent in all assessment items, including demonstrating competency in all of the quiz questions, in order to be awarded their Statement of Attainment.

Duration

Part 1

Individuals have a total of 26 weeks (6 months) to complete the learning and assessment requirements for the WA Sales Representative Program (Sales Stream) from their initial activation date.

Part 2

Individuals have a further 26 weeks (6 months) to complete the learning and assessment requirements for the WA Real Estate and Business Agents Licence Program from their initial activation date.

Individuals therefore have a total of 52 weeks (12 months) to complete the CPP50307 Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management).

Individuals may attempt the quizzes and/or submit their written assignments at any time if they believe they are adequately prepared. Therefore, if students complete the subjects in Part 1 in less than 26 weeks, the remaining time may be used as additional time to complete the subjects in Part 2. If students require the full 26 weeks to complete Part 1, then they will have 26 weeks to complete Part 2.

The amount of training for this course may be up to 20 hours per week. The amount of training is the hours an individual can expect to spend to complete their course work and assessments.

In addition to the amount of training, individuals who are new to industry or vocational training may need up to 5 hours per week known as unsupervised hours. These additional hours are for study skills or further research. For example, an individual not working in industry would need more time to review industry websites that are usually introduced in workplace compliance training.

Individuals in job roles related to the real estate industry may be able to complete the course requirements in a shorter timeframe or less hours per week.

If an individual applies for extensions beyond the 52 week completion timeframe or is granted special consideration, the maximum period of time to complete this qualification is two years from the qualification activation date.

Industry requirements

To become a licensed real estate and business agent in WA, you must have at least two years’ experience in the real estate industry immediately preceding your application. You must also complete the relevant educational program and any other requirement as prescribed by WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.

Kaplan Professional’s CPP50307 Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management) will give you the education required to obtain your WA Sales Representative Program (Sales stream) and your WA Real Estate and Business Agents Licence, and also provide you with the fundamental knowledge required to develop a successful career in sales or property management.

Individuals who successfully complete Part 1 WA Sales Representative Program (Sales stream) will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency:
